Welcome to Northumberland
Join us on one of our Northumberland photography workshops and discover this rugged wild coastline famous for its ancient castles. The constant erosion of the North Sea has carved out stunning seascapes where rocky outcrops meet the ocean.
Located in the north east of England, Northumberland’s heritage coastline simply cannot fail to impress. A designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, not only it is of significant geological importance, it features some of the most dramatic coastal scenery in the country. Best known for its sweeping sandy beaches, rolling dunes that fringe the coast, rugged cliffs, and isolated islands, it also contains some imposing castles such as Bamburgh and the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle with its distinctive pebble beach.
Together we will travel to Holy Island, accessed via a tidal causeway, where we will explore its fascinating harbour, the small fishing village of Craster and picturesque Embleton Bay with its golden sands. We’ll visit traditional fishing harbours, the expansive beach at Alnmouth, and dramatic Bamburgh Castle with its grass covered sand-dunes in the foreground
