Mallorca Personal Photographer
You have just booked a holiday in a fantastic location, your bags are packed and you’re off on holiday, or romantic break with your loved ones, there is only thing to make you treasure the memories of the holiday, a personal photographer.
I have been coming to the Majorca / Mallorca since 1995, and I have always based myself in the north of the Island in Alcudia, in my earlier travels I use to stay in an apartment hotel called the Alcudia Pins, which backs onto the beautiful Playa de Muro beach where you bath warm waters of the Mediterranean or just stroll long the beach which is 3km long and very clean,
In 1995 there was no air conditioning in the hotel, this was introduced in 2002, but when I visit Majorca now I stay in a Villa, as Alcudia Pins has become too commercialised and the restaurant now only serves pizzas, but the there is really good beach side bar very close by that has very good range of Mediterranean cuisine.
I can recall back in 2002 when the Alcudia had a complete power failure that our dinner was cooked by candlelight, when the restaurant served really good fish and pasta meals
I have taken some great travel photographs on the north of Majorca / Mallorca which included such locations as old Soller Town, Port de Soller, Port de Pollença, old Pollença town, Cala Sant Vicenç, Port d'Alcúdia, Ca’n Picafort and old Alcudia Town with its town wall dating back to fourteenth century
If you arrived in Port de Soller in 2006 in the afternoon you would find that all of the cafes and restaurants closed or only serving drinks at it was siesta time, and they would not open for food until the evening, but since the Eurozone recession this has all changed and siesta time seems to be getting phased out.
The Port d'Alcúdia although it has a commercial port it also has a good beach and a small shopping centre, a short walk down to the main road to Ca’n Picafort you will find the commercial district which has shops, hotels, super markets, cafes, tourist shops, this about 1.4km from the port.
On the north of Majorca in Old Soller town is the Orange Express which is built in 1911 and goes through the Tramuntana mountains to Palma, the Orange express runs from Soller railway station, there also a tram to Port De Soller which opened in 1913, it seems on my many visits to Majorca I always go to Soller to photograph this remarkable train and tram.
In the Tramuntana Mountains there some great landscapes to photograph and some very interesting places to visit like the scenic villages of Deiá, Valldemossa and Banyalbufar and on the coast a scenic drive to Cap de Formentor. The Polish composer Frederick Chopin and the French writer George Sands lived in Valldemossa 1838.
In Tramuntana Mountains you will find the Torrent de Pareis when it rains in the winter this becomes a torrent of raging of water, and it has carved out very deep gorge, which is 5km long.
On the south of Majorca in Palma you will find the Cathedral of Santa Maria of Palma, more commonly referred to as La Seu, it is a Gothic Roman Catholic cathedral, there is also the Castell de Bellver (Bellver Castle) just outside of Palma is unique among Spanish castles in being entirely circular. It was built between 1309 and 1311
If it is your first time in Majorca and you need a guide to show around Mallorca, a professional photographer who know your holiday location can, the photographer will know the best locations, revenues, beaches and restaurants
